It was a sad time for me at my company SABIAN Cymbals (a company formed by my father, Robert Zildjian, way back in1982) as Jackie retired from his role back in August 2016.
My father thought so highly of Jackie. His expertise, his wonderful work ethic, attention to detail and gregarious approach to business, was always a joy to share with us and our global distribution network.
As I reflect, I realise that my father made his final senior appointment at the SABIAN company by appointing Jackie into the role of SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, with the intention that he undertake the duty of President,
whenever the time came that my father would retire. I often ponder the results, when that time eventually comes along, and Jackie goes on to fulfil his real potential.
